General Chrome uses a four stage plating process that provides the best possible finish and durability. The wheels (or parts) start off by being completely stripped of there old finish all the way down to the bare metal. The wheels are then checked for any problems such as casting flaws, damage, straightness or any other issues that may need repair. They are then blasted to provide a clean surface and polished to a smooth finish. Next they run through a series of tanks to clean, etch and seal the material. After these steps they are rinsed and inspected for any more potential problems before beginning the electroplating process. The four stage plating process includes Nickel-Strike, Acid-Copper, Bright-Nickel and Chrome. After the copper plating the wheels are inspected for any more potential flaws which can be sanded and buffed to a mirror like finish before the final nickel plating. After the bright-nickel the chrome is applied to give the wheels a deep shine. After a final inspection to ensure the quality they are cleaned and ready to be delivered.
